Joy of Christmas

On December 21st and 22nd, celebrate Christmas at the Washington National Cathedral with their annual celebration, Joy of Christmas. The Cathedral Choral Society will present beloved Christmas classics to sing along to, plus a new Christmas carol composed by Alexander Levine. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased online. Since construction began over a hundred years ago in 1907, the National Cathedral has been an important landmark, and Joy of Christmas is one of the many traditions that will bring people together this holiday season.

A Candlelight Christmas

Over 130 of the capital’s best voices will come together at A Candlelight Christmas, presented by the Washington Chorus at the Kennedy Center. The National Capital Brass will accompany the Washington National Chorus as they present sing-along carols and popular classics, like the Hallelujah chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Tickets start at $19 and can be purchased in advance online. This ninety-minute performance is halved with a twenty-minute intermission, making it perfect for a family outing or a date night on the town.

A Holiday Sing-A-Long

This December, warm up your vocal cords for an evening of caroling with the Brencore Allstars at Prince George’s Publick Playhouse. Designed with guests ages 60 and above in mind, this concert will feature chart-topping Christmas songs to celebrate the season. Join them on December 20th between 11 AM and 12 PM to sing carols, and make sure to purchase your tickets online through Parks Direct to secure your spot.

Champagne and Tchaikovsky

On December 15th, grab your friends for some Tchaikovsky and bubbly toasts at Montpelier Arts Center. A three-piece orchestral ensemble will perform selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker while you sit back and enjoy some drinks. Suitable for all ages, there will be drink options for guests who are not yet twenty-one, so don’t be afraid to bring the kids. This event will run between 4 PM and 5 PM, making it a great way to kick off an evening of holiday celebrations.
